Pakistan will hold general elections on February 18, 2008. The Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, Qazi Muhammad Farooq, announced “Polling for the national and provincial assemblies will be held the same day and will be transparent from all aspects; it is the Constitutional duty of the Election Commission to conduct polls in a free, transparent and impartial manner".
